Khordha, Jan 9: A tragic road accident on the National Highway claimed the lives of two young men early this morning at Dadhimachhagadia Square.


According to reports, an unidentified vehicle hit a scooter carrying two youths, leading to their instant death. The deceased have been identified as Bikash Baral and Sudhanshu Sundaray, both residents of San Hantuad area in Banpur.


The victims were reportedly traveling from Banpur towards Khordha when the accident occurred. Local witnesses said the speeding vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.


Police from Khordha Sadar Station reached the spot soon after the incident and have begun an investigation. Efforts are underway to trace the vehicle involved in the accident.

The incident has sparked grief in the local community, with residents demanding stricter enforcement of traffic rules and measures to curb reckless driving on the busy highway stretch.
