Cuttack, Oct 3: Two prisoners escaped from Choudwar Circle Jail late last night by cutting through the wall of their prison cell.

According to reports, the duo, resident of Bihar, were convicted for murder and robbery at a gold shop in Panikoili area. They were serving their sentence when they managed to flee under the cover of darkness.

Sources indicate that the escape was facilitated using a specially crafted saw, and the inmates may have received external assistance during the breakout.

The incident has raised serious concerns about prison security and surveillance protocols.

Following the incident, police launched an intensive search operation around the jail premises and adjoining areas.

Choudwar Police are actively investigating the escape route and possible accomplices, while efforts are underway to track down the fugitives.
