Boudh, Nov 18: A tusker was found dead in the Badakuda forest area under the Badbahal range of the Redhakhol forest division in Odisha.

While the cause of the death remains unknown, forest officials have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to preliminary reports, the elephant was estimated to be over 15 years old.

Forest department personnel reached the spot shortly after the discovery and have begun a detailed inquiry.

This marks the sixth elephant death in the Redhakhol region within the past year, raising serious concerns among wildlife officials and conservationists.

The recurring fatalities have become a growing headache for the forest department, prompting calls for enhanced monitoring and preventive measures.
