Bhubaneswar, Dec 28: Nandankanan Zoological Park has reported the birth of three tiger cubs, marking a significant yet bittersweet moment for the zoo. Tigress Jayashree, just 34 months old, became the youngest mother tiger in the zoo’s history when she gave birth late last night.
According to zoo authorities, Jayashree gave birth to three cubs late last night. Unfortunately, two of the cubs did not survive, while one was found alive. The tigress, being very young, did not accept the newborns.
The surviving cub was immediately rescued and shifted to the
nursery, where veterinarians are providing intensive care. Officials confirmed
that the cub is under observation and receiving medical treatment.
