Bhubaneswar/Puri, Dec 28: A major mishap was averted after three police personnel escaped unhurt when a car, allegedly driven by an intoxicated youth, rammed into a Police Control Room (PCR) van from behind on National Highway 316 near the Satasankha bridge.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 1:40 AM while the PCR van was on routine highway patrolling duty. Suddenly, a speeding car struck the van from behind, leading to chaos on the busy highway stretch.
Following the collision, four youths, who were present
inside the car, were immediately detained and taken to Satasankha outpost for
questioning.

While details of injuries are yet to be confirmed, authorities have attributed the crash to reckless driving under the influence of alcohol.
