Bhubaneswar, Mar 16: Three persons were killed after being hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle while on morning walk near Uttara Square in Bhubaneswar today.
According to preliminary reports, one 53-year-old Bibilata Sahu and 36-year-old Rojalin Sahu had gone out for their routine morning walk when a speeding Kia Seltos car coming from Bhubaneswar towards Puri hit them near Uttara Square. Following the incident, Bibilata and Rojalin died on the spot.
It has been reported that the driver of the veihicle also died.
All three bodies are currently at Capital Hospital. Eyewitnesses stated that the car was traveling at nearly 150 km/h. After the collision, the vehicle rammed into an electric pole, lost balance, and fell into a nearby ditch.
Later, police officials reached the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
In another incident, two persons were killed after the car they were travelling in rammed into an electric pole near KEC College on National Highway 316, connecting Bhubaneswar and Puri.

The impact was severe, leaving all occupants of the vehicle critically injured. Unfortunately, two women inside the car have been reported dead.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the injured were immediately taken to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.
Police officials have begun investigating the cause of the accident, examining whether overspeeding, driver negligence, or technical failure led to the tragedy.
