Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: Chilling revelations have emerged in the Sundarpada Azad Nagar bomb blast case, with Commissionerate Police confirming that forensic samples collected from the site contained traces of RDX.
According to reports, Commissionerate Police confirmed that samples collected from the blast site contained RDX and Hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (commonly known as cyclonite).
On January 27, a powerful explosion took place in Sundarpada’s Azad Nagar. The incident occurred when the notorious criminal Sahanawaz Mallik, alias Mafi, was allegedly handling explosives on the roof of a rented house. The blast was so intense that the surrounding locality trembled, leaving several people injured.
This is the first time such high-grade explosives have been detected in Bhubaneswar, sparking widespread speculation about a larger conspiracy to destabilize Odisha.

The seized materials have been sent to the State Forensic Laboratory for detailed analysis.
Police believe the forensic report will provide crucial
leads into the origin of the explosives and the motive behind the bomb-making.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recorded statements of
the injured victims over the past two days and interrogated the house owner
where the blast occurred.
