Cuttack, Nov 30: A 55-year-old woman died, and two young men were critically injured after a speeding motorcycle hit her near College Square in Narasinghpur on Sunday, a source said.
The source informed that the victim, Mallilata Barik, was walking home when a bike carrying two youths from Ganagana village — Jashobant Behera (19) and Sunil Behera (20) — struck her at high speed.
All three were rushed to the Narsinghpur Community Health Centre (CHC).
A doctor at the CHC said, “When the woman was brought to the Narasinghpur CHC, she was not breathing. We gave first aid and tried to revive her vitals, but all our efforts went in vain, and she was declared dead.” The doctor added that the two men suffered “critical injuries” and, after initial treatment, were referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better medical care.
