Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: A senior police officer sustained critical injuries after being struck by 'Ama bus' near Bhubaneswar Club on Friday morning.

According to reports, the officer has been identified as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

The incident occurred when the officer was riding his bicycle. Meanwhile, he was hit by the bus. The impact threw him off balance, causing severe injuries.

Eyewitnesses stated that the bus was moving at considerable speed and failed to maintain a safe distance, leading to the collision.

Passersby rushed to assist the injured officer, and he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.
