Bhubaneswar, Nov 8: The Central GST Intelligence Department on Saturday arrested one Nilesh Yogesh Jigwala, a chartered accountant, for allegedly orchestrating a Rs 325 crore GST scam.

According to officials, Jigwala operated a network of agents across various districts in Odisha, targeting small-scale businesses. He allegedly misused their GST registration numbers and forged documents to facilitate fraudulent input tax credit claims for large companies based in Mumbai.
Investigations revealed that Jigwala was linked to 105 shell companies, which were used to siphon off crores of rupees through fake transactions and manipulated invoices.
The Central GST Intelligence Department had earlier arrested a female associate of Jigwala in connection with the same case and produced her in court.
