Bhubaneswar, Apr 19: A shocking road rage incident unfolded near Shailashree Vihar when two youths allegedly blocked a public bus and created chaos on the busy street.
The confrontation reportedly began over overtaking the vehcile, which quickly escalated into violence. Following which, the two men stopped the 'Ama bus' in the middle of the road and began vandalizing it. When protested, the accused youths attacked the bus driver.
The situation worsened when the accused misbehaved with a female passenger, sparking panic among commuters. For nearly 15 minutes, the road turned into a scene of terror as the duo disrupted traffic and intimidated passengers.
The chaos ended only when passersby noticed the disturbance and alerted the police.
On seeing the approaching patrol, the youths fled the scene. However, Chandrasekharpur police swiftly launched an investigation based on video footage of the incident and eyewitness accounts.
Later, the police arrested the two accused, identified as Saroj Jena and Barun Pattnayak, and seized their scooter used during the incident. Authorities confirmed that strict legal action will be taken against them.
The incident has raised serious concerns about public safety and the growing menace of road rage in the city. Locals have demanded stronger enforcement and awareness campaigns to prevent such violent episodes in the future.
