Gajapati, Oct 28: A minor landslide occurred this morning in Garaba village under Partada Panchayat of Kashinagar Block, where large boulders tumbled down from a nearby hill onto the road, disrupting transportation.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.

Upon receiving the alert, block administration officials swiftly reached the site and began road clearance operations. Efforts are ongoing to restore normal traffic flow and ensure the safety of residents.

With rainfall persisting in the region, authorities have urged people living in hilly and landslide-prone areas to remain vigilant.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the state’s readiness for the impending cyclone. The meeting included senior officials and department heads, focusing on coordinated disaster management, emergency response, and interdepartmental collaboration to mitigate the cyclone’s impact.
