Bhubaneswar, Sep 21: Pradeep Kumar Jena, former Chief Secretary of Odisha and ex-Chairman of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission, has won the presidential election of the Bhubaneswar Club.

The election, held over two days with both e-voting and ballot voting, drew significant attention from political and administrative circles.

Jena, contesting for the first time, ran on the campaign slogan “Vote for Change”.

Jena, a 1989-batch IAS officer, holds a Master of Science degree in Geology and has held several key positions in the Odisha government throughout his career. His tenure in the civil service was marked by significant contributions to infrastructure development, energy reforms, and disaster management.

Jena’s victory is seen as a shift in influence within the elite club, which has long been a hub for senior bureaucrats, business leaders, and policymakers.

The Bhubaneswar Club, established in 1949, is one of the city’s most prestigious institutions.
