Balangir, Feb 1: One person was killed while another sustained critical injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling in was hit by a police vehicle near a petrol pump under Bangomunda Police Station in Balangir district.
While the deceased has been identified as Muna Mahanand of Gandarla Gram under Sindekela police station, his companion, Ashish Suna, with critical injuries is reportedly undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the
Kantabanji police were on night patrolling duty. Meanwhile, the driver of the van
lost control over the wheels and rammed the vehicle into the motorcycle.
Following the incident, the victims were sent to the Kantabanji Hospital, where
the doctor declared Muna dead on arrival.
