Cuttack, Oct 23: Police conducted a raid on a hotel in the Sikharpur area of Cuttack and detained 30 individuals. Investigations are underway to determine why they had gathered there and what their intentions were. Acting on a tip-off about suspicious individuals hiding in a hotel in Chauliaganj, police launched the operation.

In a separate incident, police carried out a surprise raid in a forest near Maheshpur, close to Baunsa Pokhari along the Kalama-Govindraypur Road under Baisinga police station in Mayurbhanj district. The raid was based on intelligence suggesting a major criminal plot was being planned in the area.

During the operation, police seized two country-made guns and two live bullets. However, two suspects managed to escape. Sources indicate that the criminals were planning a major incident in the Baisinga region. Police have launched further raids in multiple locations to apprehend the fugitives.
