Bhadrak, Dec 4: A plus II girl student died after she came under the wheels of a speeding tractor near Haladigadia Chhak under Bhandaripokhari police station limits in Bayabanapur Panchayat.
According to reports, the victim, a resident of Talapada area, was on her way to college, when she was struck by a tractor transporting sand. As a result, she died on the spot.
The accident immediately triggered tension at the site, as locals expressed outrage over the unchecked movement of sand-laden tractors in the region.
Residents alleged that rampant illegal sand transportation has become a recurring menace, posing serious risks to pedestrians and commuters.

On being informed, Bhandaripokhari police rushed to the spot
and begin an investigation into the incident. Later, the body was seized and
sent to a local hospital for post-mortem.
