Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: Keeping in mind the future and broader interests of students, the Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced that the admission process for postgraduate courses for the academic year 2026‑27 will begin earlier than usual.
The decision has been taken to safeguard the academic interests of students and ensure timely completion of courses.
As per the notification, students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies must appear for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET). The online application process will be available on the SAMS portal from February 27 to March 15, where candidates can submit the Common Application Form (CAF).
The CPET examinations for different subjects are scheduled between April 27 and May 10. Admissions will be granted based on the marks secured in this entrance test.
To streamline the academic calendar, the department has set July 10, 2026, as the date for commencement of postgraduate classes across all universities and colleges in the state.
