Bhubaneswar, Jun 3: Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (OPGC) has achieved a significant milestone by securing the top position among state sector power generators in India, reflecting its operational excellence and reliability in power generation, officials said on Wednesday.

According to rankings up to May 2026, OPGC has not only emerged 1st in the state sector nationwide but also secured 10th position across all sectors (government and private) and ranked 6th among large power stations with capacity exceeding 1000 MW.

This achievement has been attributed to the visionary leadership and continuous support of the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Energy, whose guidance has provided new momentum to the corporation’s progress. His emphasis on making Odisha’s energy sector self‑reliant and prosperous has played a pivotal role in driving OPGC’s success.
