Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: The capital city of Odisha is experiencing a sharp dip in temperatures as winter intensifies. According to official records, the mercury has fallen by 3.2°C over the past two days, marking one of the season’s coldest spells.
On January 4, the minimum temperature was recorded at 18.6°C, followed by 18°C on January 5. Today, January 6, the temperature dropped further to 15.4°C at 5:30 AM, signaling a significant fall in the city’s early morning chill.
Residents of Bhubaneswar woke up to foggy conditions and biting cold winds, with visibility reduced in several areas. The sudden dip has prompted people to take out heavy woollens, while roadside tea stalls and heaters have become common gathering points for relief from the chill.

Meteorological officials have attributed the drop to cold
winds sweeping in from the northwestern parts of the country. They have also
warned that temperatures may remain low for the next few days, urging citizens
to take precautions, especially during early morning and late night hours.
