Bhubaneswar, Mar 16: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced an extension of the application deadline for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) 2026.

Students can now submit their applications until March 18, 11:45 PM through the SAMS portal by filling out the Common Application Form (CAF).

Originally, the deadline was set for March 15. However, in view of student convenience and to safeguard their academic interests, the department has decided to provide additional time.

The CPET is a mandatory examination for admission into postgraduate courses for the 2026-27 academic session. The entrance test will be conducted between April 27 and May 10, 2026, covering various subjects. Selection will be based solely on performance in the test.

Authorities have also outlined a clear academic calendar, with postgraduate classes scheduled to begin by July 10, 2026 across all universities and colleges in Odisha.

This move is intended to ensure that courses are completed on time, examinations are conducted as per schedule, and results are declared promptly.

The extension has been welcomed by students, as it provides them with more time to complete the application process and prepare for the upcoming examinations.
