Rajkanika, Feb 22: The Odisha Crime Branch today classified the Rajkanika rape case as a “Red Flag” case, citing the extreme sensitivity and seriousness of the incident.
Officials confirmed that the case will now be monitored at the highest level, with Crime Branch DG leading the investigation.
Authorities have also announced that a special Public Prosecutor (PP) will be appointed to expedite judicial proceedings. This move aims to fast-track the trial process and deliver justice without delay.
On Saturday, a sexual assault allegation involving a Class 7 student of a private English medium school has been reported under the jurisdiction of Rajkanika police station area of Kendrapara district.
The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with demands for strict action against the perpetrators.
While three teachers and a female assistant from the school were taken into police custody for questioning, on the other hand, police also visited the victim’s residence to conduct further investigation.
