Bhubaneswar, Sep 24: Ahead of the Durga Puja, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced that all state government employees will receive their September salaries in advance.
As per the announcement, the employees will get their salaries on the 26th of September—four days ahead of the scheduled date.
A formal directive regarding the early disbursement has been issued, with officials confirming that the Finance Department has been instructed to ensure timely release of funds.
On normal days, salaries are credited on the last working day of the month. But with the Odisha government offices scheduled to remain closed for Durga Puja holidays from September 27, the Chief Minister asked departments to ensure payment in advance.

The move has been widely welcomed by employees across Odisha, many of whom depend on their monthly income to manage expenses during the festive season.
Durga Puja, one of eastern India’s most celebrated festivals, begins later this week and is marked by vibrant rituals, family gatherings, and community festivities.
