Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: A team from the Jharkhand Commission for Protection of Child Rights (JCPCR) arrived in Bhubaneswar to investigate the recent rescue of a minor girl from the clutches of a sex racket operating in the city.

The 16-year-old girl, a native of Jharkhand, was reportedly trafficked and forced into the flesh trade in the Laxmisagar area of Bhubaneswar.

The mater came to fore after she was found in a distressed condition and later admitted to a local hospital. Subsequent police raids led to the arrest of four individuals and the rescue of several other women involved in the racket.

The JCPCR team is expected to meet with local authorities, including the Commissionerate Police and Child Welfare Committee, to assess the circumstances surrounding the trafficking and ensure proper rehabilitation measures for the survivor.

The investigation continues as authorities work to trace the network behind the trafficking and ensure justice for the victim.
