Bhubaneswar, Apr 16: A 15-year-old girl who had gone missing from Bhubaneswar’s Badamunda locality two days ago has been successfully rescued by the Commissionerate Police. Acting swiftly, a special team traced her to the Delang area in Puri district and brought her back safely.
According to reports, the incident had come to fore when the victim, who had gone to her tuition classes, did not return home. However, her family members launched a frantic search. Unable to trace the victim, the family members of the girl had approached the police and lodged an FIR.
Acting on a complaint lodged at Nayapalli Police Station, a special team was formed to trace the minor.
After extensive investigation, the girl was located and rescued from Delang in Puri district.
According to police sources, the breakthrough came through a combination of CCTV footage analysis and human intelligence. On April 13, the girl’s family, who reside in Jaleswar Basti, reported her disappearance. CCTV footage later revealed the teenager walking away after leaving her bicycle behind. Her cycle and school bag were found abandoned near her tuition center, raising concerns about her safety.
