Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: A minor boy from Gopinathpur area was allegedly abducted and assaulted by a group of local youths over past enmity. The incident was reported under Dhauli police limits.

According to reports, the matter came to fore after the video of the assault went viral on social media. Following this, the family members of the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint.

Taking note of the report, police registered a case and initiated a probe.

Acting swiftly, police arrested seven accused, including the prime suspect, all of whom are reportedly minors.

The victim was not only physically assaulted but also threatened with death, alleged the family members of the victim.

Police sources confirmed that while seven individuals have been taken into custody, several others involved in the incident remain absconding.

Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects. The incident has raised serious concerns about juvenile violence and the role of social media in exposing such crimes.
