Balasore, Mar 15: A man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute and then died by suicide in Maharudrapur village under Gopalpur police station in Balasore district.

The deceased have been identified as Paresh Majhi and his wife Rashmita Parida.

According to reports, Paresh had married Rashmita four years ago. The couple has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. However, frequent quarrels between the two reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation that ended in tragedy.

On Sunday, Paresh allegedly attacked and killed Rashmita. Following the act, he went outside and hanged himself from a tree.

On being informed, Police from Gopalpur station rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the deaths.

While the exact reason behind Paresh’s extreme decision remains unclear, authorities are probing possible domestic disputes.

Bahanaga Tehsildar also reached the site, and officials confirmed that the bodies will be sent for post-mortem examination.
