Argus News - Man Critical in Attack by Elder Brother in Bhubaneswar’s Salia Sahi

Bhubaneswar, Apr 11: A man sustained critical injuries after he was attacked by his elder brother over some dispute in Salia Sahi area here on Friday night.

According to police sources, the altercation began between two brothers, Chittaranjan and Dipu Samantaray. In the heat of the moment, Chittaranjan allegedly attacked his younger brother Dipu with a sharp knife, inflicting multiple deep wounds.

Reports suggest that Dipu sustained as many as eight serious injuries across different parts of his body.

Bleeding profusely and in a desperate state, Dipu managed to reach Nayapalli police station, seeking help. Officers at the station immediately arranged for his transfer to Capital Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.

Meanwhile, Maitri Vihar police rushed to the crime scene and began investigation.

Preliminary inquiries indicate that the attack may have stemmed from a dispute over financial transactions. Authorities are probing the matter further to confirm the motive and to determine whether other individuals were involved.
