Kendrapara, Dec 27: A tragic incident occurred late Friday night when a man was burnt alive after a fire broke out in a shop at Gobindpur village under Kudanagari police station limits.
In the incident, shopkeeper Subas Mallik was severely burnt after being trapped inside while asleep.
According to reports, the shop had been locked from outside, fueling suspicion that miscreants may have carried out the act due to prior enmity. The incident has sparked tension in the locality.
Kudanagari police rushed to the spot and initiated a probe.

A scientific team has also begun forensic investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
In a separate incident, another shop was torched in Kalabuda
market.
