Puri, Nov 5: On the auspicious occasion of Kartik Purnima, devotees thronged the sacred Shreemandir in Puri to witness the rare and resplendent Rajarajeshwara Besha of Lord Jagannath and his divine siblings.

As per tradition, the deities—Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra—were adorned in golden attire while seated on the Ratna Singhasana (jeweled throne) inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. This special Besha is observed only once during the holy month of Kartik, making it a spiritually significant and visually stunning event for devotees.

The Rajarajeshwara Besha symbolises the supreme royal form of the deities, with intricate gold ornaments and divine regalia that reflect their celestial majesty.

Thousands of pilgrims gathered from across the state and beyond to catch a glimpse of this rare darshan, which is believed to bestow immense spiritual merit.
