Bhubaneswar, Sep 21: Odia feature film LAHARI has earned an official selection at the 20th edition of the Tasveer Film Festival, to be held in Seattle, Washington on October 8.

Directed by Amartya Bhattacharyya and produced by Jhilik Bhattacharjee, LAHARI explores the emotional and philosophical depths of human relationships, set against the backdrop of Odisha’s rich cultural landscape. The film had its world premiere at the 30th Kolkata International Film Festival and was released in theatres across Odisha on September 12.

The cast includes Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Choudhury Bikash Das, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Smruti Ranjan Mahala, Susant Misra, Swastik Choudhury, and Zeinab Doer, among others. The film has been praised for its symbolic storytelling, visual poetry, and authentic portrayal of Odisha’s socio-cultural ethos.
With LAHARI now entering the international spotlight, the selection marks a proud moment for regional Indian cinema and a promising step toward global recognition.
