Cuttack, Mar 11: Odisha Vigilance today launched simultaneous house searches against Prasanna Samantaray, Tehsildar of Kantapara in Cuttack district, following allegations of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.

Acting on search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court, Cuttack, the raids are being carried out by a team comprising 2 Additional SPs, 8 DSPs, 11 Inspectors, 5 ASIs, and other supporting staff. The large-scale operation spans multiple districts, including Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, and Kendrapara.

According to Vigilance officials, searches are underway at seven locations linked to Samantaray:

- A triple-storeyed residential building at Mauza-Kesara, Saheednagar, Bhubaneswar.
- Another under-construction triple-storeyed building at Mauza-Kesara, Saheednagar, Bhubaneswar.
- His paternal house at Duchhia, Alibada, Gadisagada, Puri district.
- A relative’s house at Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar.
- His office chamber at Kantapada Tahasil, Oldtapur, Cuttack district.
- A relative’s house at Badapaldia, Marshaghai, Kendrapara district.
- His government residential quarter at Kantapada, Oldtapur, Cuttack district.

Officials confirmed that searches are continuing and further details will be shared once the operation concludes. The raids are part of Vigilance’s intensified drive against corruption and misconduct among government officials.
