Malkangiri, Dec 26: Odisha Vigilance officials carried out extensive raids in Malkangiri district on Thursday, targeting the residence and properties of Nihar Sarkar, a Junior Engineer posted at Malkangiri Sadar Block.
According to reports, simultaneous raids were conducted at Sarkar’s residential premises in Malkangiri town and other locations linked to him.
The Vigilance team reportedly searched his house, office, and additional properties to ascertain evidence of disproportionate assets.
Officials stated that the operation was part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and possession of assets beyond known sources of income. During the searches, documents, property records, and financial papers were examined.
Bank accounts and other investments are also being scrutinized to determine the scale of assets accumulated.
