Nayagarh, Oct 26: A fake social media account impersonating Nayagarh District Collector Akshay Sunil Agrawal has surfaced online, prompting a swift response from the administration.

The impersonator reportedly used the account to solicit money from unsuspecting individuals.

Upon receiving information about the fraudulent activity, Collector Agrawal lodged a formal complaint with the Cyber Cell, urging authorities to investigate and take appropriate action against the culprits.

In a public advisory, the Collector appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and avoid responding to any suspicious messages or financial requests made through social media platforms. He emphasized that no such requests are ever made by government officials through personal accounts.

The district administration has also requested the public to report any interactions with the fake account to local authorities or the Cyber Cell immediately.
