Cuttack, Dec 21: More than a month after the death of Humane Sagar, his mother Sephali Suna on Sunday lodged a complaint at Markat Nagar Police Station in Cuttack, seeking a detailed investigation into what she described as her son’s suspicious death.

In her complaint, Suna alleged that her son was subjected to sustained mental and physical harassment, financial exploitation and pressure that may have driven him to death. She urged police to probe allegations of conspiracy, abetment to suicide, intimidation, misappropriation of money and destruction of digital evidence.

According to the complaint, Suna has sought examination of CCTV footage from the house where Humane Sagar had been staying during the last 60 days before his death. She also requested police to analyse call records, WhatsApp messages and bank transactions to establish who met or contacted her son during that period.

The complaint further named several individuals who were allegedly in close contact with Humane Sagar over the past three to four years, including his wife Shreya Mishra, singer Arpita Choudhury, Dr Suvendu Mishra, manager Dinesh Behera, Somesh Satapathy, former manager Babulu, and other associates. Suna has requested that all of them be brought within the scope of the investigation. She also sought verification of Arpita Choudhury’s financial dealings and assets.

Senior advocate Soura Chandra Mohapatra said that based on the complaint, police are expected to register a case and begin a structured investigation. As part of the process, police are likely to first obtain medical and post-death reports to determine the exact cause of death before examining the specific allegations raised in the complaint.
