Hirakud, Sep 27: Following decrease in water inflow, authorities at Hirakud Dam have closed four of its floodgates. The decision comes as part of ongoing water management efforts following recent heavy rains in the region.
Currently, water is being discharged through 16 operational gates.
Officials confirmed that the dam’s inflow has reduced significantly over the past 24 hours, prompting the gate closures.
The situation is being closely monitored by the dam management team, and further adjustments will be made based on rainfall patterns and inflow levels, said an official.
