The Kalbaisakhi phenomenon, common during the pre-monsoon season in eastern
India, often brings sudden thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds.
While it provides relief from rising temperatures, it also poses risks such as
damage to crops, uprooting of trees, and disruption of power supply.
Authorities have urged people to take precautionary measures, including staying
indoors during lightning, securing loose objects, and avoiding shelter under
trees.
With alerts in place across multiple districts, the state machinery is on
high alert to mitigate the impact of the severe weather. The Meteorological
Centre continues to monitor the situation closely and will issue further
updates as necessary.
