Keonjhar, Jan 31: In a significant operation, the Forest Department of Keonjhar district’s Patna Range on Saturday seized four handmade live bombs from a house.
Acting on reliable inputs, the team conducted a raid at a house in Shadangbahali village , located near the Attei reserved forest. The officials also arrested a local resident, identified as Sanjay Munda, in connection with the case.
During interrogation, the accused confessed that the explosives were intended for hunting activities inside the nearby forest.
Authorities have confirmed that the Forest Department has lodged a formal complaint with Ghatagaon police station, seeking registration of a case under the Arms Act against the accused. The incident has raised concerns about illegal hunting practices and the use of explosives in forested areas.

Officials emphasised that strict action will be taken to curb such activities, as they endanger biodiversity and violate conservation laws.
