Rajnagar, Oct 10: A major mishap was averted as a fishing boat capsized late Thursday night while operating in the sea near Satabhaya coast under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district.

According to reports, a fishing boat named Maa Tarini, carrying eight fishermen from Bhadrak district, was operating in the sea near Satabhaya coast under Rajnagar block. Meanwhile, their boat overturned.

The sudden capsizing left the fishermen stranded in the dark, but their quick thinking and swimming skills helped them reach the shore without any serious injuries.

Upon receiving the update, local villagers and marine officials rushed to the site.

Authorities have confirmed that all crew members are safe and have been provided medical checkups and support.

A senior official from the Fisheries Department praised the fishermen’s courage and urged fishermen to exercise caution during night-time fishing and to ensure all safety measures are in place before venturing into the sea.
