Bhadrak, Oct 10: In a swift disciplinary move, Bhadrak Superintendent of Police on Friday placed Sub-Inspector of the Gramanchal Police Station under suspension following allegations of misconduct and misuse of official authority.

The officer has been identified as Kartik Chandra Jena.

According to reports, SI Jena allegedly sent a civilian to Rasikabad village to conduct an unofficial investigation using his personal motorcycle. The purpose of the visit was reportedly linked to a monetary deal.

Upon suspicion, villagers detained the man and later handed him over to the police.

Taking note of the incident, SP Manoj Raut ordered the suspension of the officer citing a breach of protocol and improper delegation of investigative responsibilities.
