Festive Fireworks Turn Fatal In Odisha's Ambagadia Village; House Destroyed, Five Cattle Killed

Anandapur, Oct 21: A devastating fire broke out late last night in Ambagadia village under Soso police limits of Anandapur sub-division, reportedly triggered by a stray firecracker during Diwali celebrations.

According to reports, a fire broke out at one Kodandadhar Panda’s house in Ambagadia village, killing five cattle and destroying three thatched rooms.

The incident occurred while children in the village were bursting firecrackers. One of the fireworks landed on the thatched roof, igniting the fire that quickly spread across the property.

Upon receiving the alert, Hatadihi fire brigade rushed to the scene and managed to bring the flames under control. Despite their efforts, the damage was extensive, with all three rooms reduced to ashes and five cattle were burnt alive.

Local authorities are assessing the extent of the loss, and villagers have called for increased awareness and safety measures during festive celebrations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
