Bhadrak, Sep 26: A man impersonating himself a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has been arrested from a hotel near Nalanga Chhak under the jurisdiction of the Rural Police Station in Bhadrak district.
The accused, identified as Rahul Singh Ranaut, hails from Jharkhand.
According to reports, the accused was found dressed in a police uniform and in possession of a car, a firearm, and a baton—all of which have been seized.
Acting on a tip-off, local police conducted the raid and apprehended the individual who had been posing as a senior police officer.
Reportedly, investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the impersonation and whether the accused was involved in any criminal activities using the fake identity.
