Jagatsinghpur, Nov 20: A day after seizing a vehicle allegedly linked to the Bangladeshi infiltration case, Jagatsinghpur police intensified their investigation by launching coordinated raids on Thursday at properties belonging to the prime accused, Sikandar Alam.

The raids were conducted at two locations- Dhanipur Basti and Kuamanga, under the supervision of senior police officials, including the Additional SP and SDPO.

During the raid, police seized a motorcycle, several fake Aadhaar cards, bank passbooks, and other critical documents.

Authorities had earlier confiscated Sikandar Alam’s passport as part of an ongoing investigation.

It may be noted that Sikandar has been absconding since the incident came to light, and police have intensified efforts to trace and apprehend him. His brother, Abdul Motalif Khan (alias Tiki), is also reportedly on the run.

Sources said that Sikandar, who previously worked in the merchant navy, allegedly maintained links with individuals in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bangladesh, and Balochistan.

He is also accused of illegally occupying government land in Beherampur Basti, where he constructed a house and allegedly rented it out to suspected Bangladeshi nationals.

Authorities believe he was involved in various unlawful and criminal activities from the premises.

Jagatsinghpur SDPO also confirmed that several documents were seized during the raid. However, further details are awaited.
