Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: A shocking incident unfolded in Sundarpada area here when a group of individuals attempting to prepare a bomb for criminal activities triggered an accidental explosion.


Following the incident, several persons sustained injuries.


On the other hand, acting swiftly, police registered a case against all of them. Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings will commence once the injured recover.


The prime accused, who was actively involved in making the bomb, previously had seven criminal cases, including charges under the Explosives Act.

Police are investigating the intended target of the bomb and whether it was part of a larger criminal conspiracy. Efforts are underway to identify other individuals who may have been involved in the planning and execution of the crime.


Officials stated that both backward and forward linkages of the incident are being examined to uncover the broader network behind the operation. The investigation will now be investigated by an NIA team, said a senior official.
