Puri, Nov 21: The sacred Dev Deepavali rituals at the Jagannath Temple in Puri will conclude today with elaborate ceremonies and offerings.

The three‑day observance, which began on Margashir Shukla Paksha Chaturdashi, saw Lord Jagannath perform traditional shraddha and pind daan rituals honouring revered figures from mythology and temple tradition.

On the concluding day today, Lord Jagannath will perform pind daan (ritual offerings) in honour of Devaki, Vasudeva, Nanda, Yashoda, King Indradyumna, and Queen Gundicha.

The temple premises—including the main sanctum, Natamandap, Bhogamandap, and Meghanada Pacheri—will be illuminated with sacred lamp donations.

Earlier, the rituals honoured Dadhichi and Kashyapa on the first day, and Dasharatha and Kaushalya on Amavasya.

After the midday dhupa, Lord Jagannath appeared in shraddha attire, will grant darshan to thousands of devotees.

In the evening, a rice mound will be prepared beneath the Ratna Simhasana, where 28 lamps will be placed—9 for Lord Balabhadra, 10 for Lord Jagannath, and 9 for Goddess Subhadra.

The rituals will be conducted by the Pujapanda servitors of the temple.
