Bhubaneswar, Jan 2: Senior IAS officer Deoranjan Singh on Friday officially assumed the charge as the Development Commissioner of Odisha, following a key administrative reshuffle in the state government.
The appointment comes in the wake of Anu Garg taking over as the Chief Secretary of Odisha. With Garg stepping into the top bureaucratic role, the government entrusted Singh with the crucial responsibility of overseeing developmental initiatives across the state.
Besides the development commissioner, he has been given charge of the Planning and Convergence department. He will also remain in additional charge of Revenue and Disaster Management department.

As Development Commissioner, Singh will play a pivotal role
in coordinating major projects, monitoring progress, and ensuring effective
implementation of welfare schemes. His appointment is seen as a move to
