Rajnagar, Mar 19: At least 40 people were hospitalised after consuming dalma contaminated by a snake in Pattamundai Municipality’s Ward No. 10, Kendrapara district.

The discovery triggered panic among the attendees, many of whom had already consumed the food. Fearing possible poisoning, several rushed to the Pattamundai Sub-Divisional Medical facility late at night.
Hospital authorities confirmed that around 40 individuals were admitted with complaints of nausea, uneasiness, and anxiety.
Although no severe cases have been reported so far, precautionary medical examinations were conducted to ensure safety. The hospital premises witnessed long queues as worried residents lined up for health check-ups.
