Gajapati, Oct 28: A worker deployed at a cyclone shelter tragically collapsed and passed away while on duty. The incident was reported from Potara panchayat under Rayagada block in Gajapati district.

The deceased has been identified as Surendra Gamanga. He was deployed as a supply assistant.

According to reports, Surendra, who had been diligently working to manage relief and operations at the cyclone shelter since the 26th of this month, collapsed unexpectedly last night.

Following this, he was immediately rushed to the Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, he was declared borught dead.

The untimely death has sent shockwaves through the community and the local administration.
