Daringbadi, Nov 9: The hill station of Daringbadi, often referred to as the "Kashmir of Odisha," is reeling under a severe cold wave that has disrupted daily life across the region.
Over the past two days, temperatures have plummeted, with the mercury dipping to 11°C in Daringbadi town and even lower in its interior pockets.
According to reports, eight places recorded temperature below 15 degree Celsius. Daringibadi recorded lowest temperature at 11°C, followed by Jharsuguda 11.7°C, Phulbani 12°C, Rourkela 13.2°C, Bhadrak, Angul, Keonjhar and Koraput each 14.6°C.
The biting cold has forced residents indoors, with many unable to venture out even during daylight hours.

The situation worsened on Sunday morning as dense fog blanketed the region, reducing visibility to less than 10 meters and causing disruptions in vehicular movement.
