Nayagarh, Oct 9: A case of alleged abduction has been reported under Fatehgarh police jurisdiction of Nayagarh district, involving a Class 8 girl student.

The girl, who studies at Badagada High School in Bhubaneswar, had travelled to her maternal uncle’s house in Shalapada village under Bhapur block during the Dussehra holidays. However, she did not reached her destination. 

Unable to trace her, the family members approached the police and lodged a FIR.

According to the complaint filed at Fatehgarh police station, the girl was abducted during her visit.

Following the report, police have registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and have initiated an investigation.

Authorities are currently gathering evidence and questioning locals to trace the missing student and identify those involved.
