Puri, Jan 2: The district administration has issued strict guidelines regulating all forms of transport in Chilika Lake as heavy fog continues to disrupt visibility and pose safety risks.
The order, issued by the Puri District Collector, suspends passenger boats, cargo boats, and floating bridges until 11 AM to ensure public safety.
In an official letter addressed to the Puri Superintendent of Police and other departmental officers, the Collector directed strict enforcement of the ban.

remain in place until the fog subsides and visibility improves.

Local Block Development Officers (BDOs), Tahsildars, and police officials have been instructed to maintain close vigilance over the situation. The Collector also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating the order.
